Cry of the Poor |
"How can it be that even today there are still people dying of hunger? Condemned to illiteracy? Lacking the most basic medical care? Without a roof over their heads? . . .
"Christians must learn to make their act of faith in Christ by discerning His voice in the cry for help that rises from this world of poverty."
-- Pope John Paul II
Novo Millennio Ineunte, no. 50

Pax Christi is issuing a powerful, new statement, Called to Embrace All of Life: The Catholic Vote and Catholic Values.
This statement will be published in Our Sunday Visitor and US Catholic. Pax Christi, USA will also be supplying the ad to regional and local groups to publish in their local newspapers, diocesan newspapers and parish bulletins. Pax Christi, USA is asking for Catholics to endorse this statement; and to contribute to the cost of publication.
We, at Catholics for Democracy strongly encourage you to print out this statement, available at http://www.paxchristiusa.org/signon.pdf and add your endorsement.
We also strongly encourage as many as possible to print out copies of this statement and place it in the literature rack at your Parish. |

Theodore Roosevelt |

"To announce that there should be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American people."
