Cry of the Poor |
"How can it be that even today there are still people dying of hunger? Condemned to illiteracy? Lacking the most basic medical care? Without a roof over their heads? . . .
"Christians must learn to make their act of faith in Christ by discerning His voice in the cry for help that rises from this world of poverty."
Pope John Paul II
Novo Millennio Ineunte, no. 50

Changes Afoot |

As you could probably already tell, Catholics for Democracy is making some changes to the website. At the moment, we are expermimenting with design and content. The website may go through a number of design changes within the next few days while we sort out what we think will work best.
As of now, the site is set up so that links to internal site content are found in the right column. Links to content from other sites are in the left column.
We also set up CfDnews to distinguish news reports and formal positions of CfD from content reflecting the personal positions of CfD members. Two things are accomplished by this. First, editorial control can be exercised over CfD news in order to ensure its integrity without infringing unnecessarily on the free speech of those who want to provide content in their name (in their blogs). Second, this will allow CfD Administrators greater freedom to voice our own personal opinions without those opinions being taken, necessarily, as the collective positions of CfD. |
